I moved my family to the Emerald Coast from Hawaii after retiring from the US Marine Corps.  With a bachelor's degree in digital photography, I decided to take a chance on a more creative endeavor and started working as a freelance photographer in 2013.  It has been an exciting transition for me and, being home every night, allows me to take care of my father, a WWII veteran. It was his idea to brand the business with our family name.  So, "Forde Photography" became "4D Photography!"  Like many photographers, I photographed a little bit of everything as I searched for a niche for my business.  My wife and I share an interest in home building and design, and that guided me towards shooting real estate and genres that go hand-in-hand with home designs and home lifestyle. My creative projects center around food photography and black and white portraits.

My wife and I are both avid hikers and kayakers. Like most folks on the Emerald Coast, we get out and play in the water as often as we can.
